Adhering to Legal Frameworks and Policies

I was able to learn about the legal requirements of the teaching profession through my course about Law and Ethics in Education. This course allowed me to study several case studies that help me in maintaining an awareness of, and responding in accordance with, requirements authorized under the Education Act and other relevant legislation. In the assignment shown alongside, my group and I evaluated whether a teacher, school board and student should be held negligent in the case of a playground incident. Through our discussion and research, I learned about what the legal requirements are of me as a teacher as well as how I can engage in practices consistent with policies and procedures established by the school authority. When I am in a classroom I practice these policies but above all recognize that my professional practice is bound by the standards of conduct expected of a caring, knowledgeable, and reasonable adult.
